Drama 5-6

DRAMA 5-6 This is a course in the advanced study of performance technique and theory. It continues the application of the play direction techniques introduced in Drama 4. Using the skills they have already learned, students will examine Shakespearean text, learning the difference between iambic and free verse; identify types of Elizabethan plays; as well as perform soliloquies, monologues and scenes from selected works. Additionally, students will identify and learn about professional roles in theatre both onstage and backstage. Drama 6 is a course in which students explore advanced methods and techniques of acting, interpretation, and direction.  Advanced scene work will be rehearsed and performed at “Night at the Museum”. This course has been approved to meet the UC “f” or “g” requirement.
